The H2O Project

Organized by Christian Campus House

As of 11/17/2008.
We are sitting at about $800 raised so far. Our goal is $2,500! You can help. Click the orange "ChipIn!" button to the right.
Update...
Thanks for everyone who has been participating. We have had students sitting on a toilet in the Union from 7am-7pm everyday this week. The point of the toilet is to remind everyone that here, in the States, most of us pee in water cleaner than 1.1 billion people in the world have to drink.

And $1 will give 1 person clean water for 1 year.

We have been asking students to simply share $1. So far, on campus, we have raised $230. That doesn't sound like much...but when you realize that is 230 people each giving $1...that's pretty sweet.

Our graph on the right hand side of your screen is not updating. So, here are our totals so far:

We have $270 donated online.
We have $230 donated on campus.
That's a total of $500.

And we have 50+ students and countless friends, families, and strangers who are sacrificing all their non-water beverages. All of the money they would have spent on coffee or soda or tea or milk or juice is being set aside for the H2O Project.

And we will collect those funds in one week. Stay tuned.
Very excited!

So far, so good...
Thanks to all who are participating in the H2O Project so far. We are well on our way to meeting our goal...I'd love to surpass it.

We will be on campus all next week, from 7am-7pm, to meet students, begin conversations, raise awareness, and hopefully raise some funds too.

We want to let everyone know about the lack of clean water in many regions of our world. And we want people to know we can be a part of the solution.

And on campus, we are only going to be asking for $1 from folks. Everyone has an extra buck. And that extra George can give someone clean water for the entire 2009 year.

You can find us sitting on (not using!) the toilets in front of our table in the Union...right by the entry into the Food Court. Stop by and say hello.
Thanks for looking into the H2O Project.
*1.1 billion people in the world don't have access to clean drinking water.
*25,000 people lose their lives to water-related illnesses everyday.
*Women and children sometimes walk 2 hours EACH WAY everyday to get water. This keeps them from getting an education or holding a job.
*Most of the AIDS related deaths in the world occur from a preventable water-borne illness.

We can all be a part of the solution. $1 will give 1 person clean water for 1 year.

If you would like to donate online, you may do so by clicking the orange "ChipIn!" button on the right. This will take you to PayPal, where you can donate securely online via credit/debit card.
